Pansophia Indonesia for Children Education

"Did you know that school enrollment is less than 50%
in Indonesia?"

I had the honor to meet Elaine Marlene today, she is the PR and Operating Manager of Pansophia Indonesia — a non-profit organization which cause is to help under-privileged children's educations. I believe that good education is the foundation of quality living and everyone deserves a chance, but unfortunately many of us does not.

Like any other non-profit organizations, their source of life lies of the hand of the community's contributions to cover their daily expenses. Elaine expressed her ideas to collaborate and come up with something which can help support the organization — this interest us greatly. In this the stage we are still tossing around thoughts and ideas, we hope we will come up with something soon for this very good cause.

Pre-Wedding Album Design - Franky & Karina

Love is like an adventure. You meet each other by chance and then embark on a lifelong journey to discover each other. Sometimes we don't know where life is heading, but having someone by your side along the way is priceless.

The1818.com assigned us to do Franky & Karina's pre-wedding album as well. With vintagey feel and simple designs, the photographs are placed to tell a story, the journey between two lovers. We hope you enjoy the results as much as we enjoy putting it together.

Franky & Karina Wedding Photobook

Telling a story through a photobook is no easy feat! Even before we start designing, we need to consider the flow of photographs, style, color scheme and words to portray the couple's special moments. Our friend at the1818.com assigned us to work on Franky & Karina's wedding book and
here's a few page spread of the finished design. You can view their fab works on their website link here

Hello Kitty Invitation for Hazel

Most little girls love Hello Kitty. I was also one of those girls.
Big girl Hazel is turning THREE and we chose this Hello Kitty template for her birthday invitation. We want to make sure that her invitations are delivered right on time to be distributed to her friends and family. Have a great birthday celebration Hazel!

Today we're moving onto another project: DIY pom-pom. The day started rough as we tried to get familiar with the camera and settings. By mid day tough, we've got some great pictures on our cameras. I love the white and pale palates, they remind me of weddings themes. Love, love, love it.

Review by C'est La Vie

We are a fan of Viona's writing from C'est la Vie. With her honest and lively writing style, she captures her readers and it's so easy to relate to her stories. Her topics are so varied, you never know what you'll taste next, much like Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans :D

Viona generously reviewed Sopha & Co's products on her blog and here's the link to read her fun and vibrant review. Many thanks to Vie!

DIY Sweet Paper Doily

Today we had fun trying to figure out how to make a DIY Paper Doily tutorial. It was our first time doing it and I was trying to figure out how to use this super cool SLR camera I borrowed from my brother-in-law. What's aperture? F-what? Which button Grace (my assistant)? hahahaha.... She knows better than I.

Finally we manage to get it done and post it for you guys... I think we did a pretty good job for first timers. Enjoy!!!

WHAT YOU NEED: color papers, scissors, x-acto knife, cutting matt, glue, ribbon/string

DIY:
  1. You will need a square paper and fold it diagonally into triangle shape twice.
  2. Open the flaps and fold both flap outward once again into smaller triangle shape.
  3. Now you can start trimming parts of the edge of your triangle, but keep in mind that you need to leave enough so that when you open your triangle they still connect.
  4. To make smaller cuts within the triangle shape, use x-acto knife. Be creative and organic with it what you are doing. Don't  be afraid to make the cuts, it will look great anyway!
  5. Open the folds and... Viola!!  Do several more and attach them into a string to make a pretty garland.

Farewell Steve Jobs

Today's main page @ apple.com
Steve Jobs died today at the age of 56. I don't know much about him except that I adore and marveled at many of his visions and inventions such as apples' products which are so groundbreakingly genius.

I accidently came across his commencement speech given to Standford students in 2005 and It has become a powerful reminder to me about faith. Just like everyone else in many points of my life I feel unsure, insecure, and I questions where I am heading to. Where Sopha & Co. is heading to...? I got caught in my ego, which got me worry about what people think and led me to try prove the world of how good I am. In his speech he reminds me to do just the opposite. Today is a memoir to reconnect and embrace who I am and trust life and where it leads me to.

"... and most importantly have the courage to follow your heart & intuitions, they somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary."
— Steve Jobs

May you Rest In Peace.

D.I.Y Lace Tiles

Do-it-yourself Lace Tiles

from marthastewart.com

This quick, easy and beautiful do-it-yourself project is a must do for lace lovers. It's so easy and quick to do. The lace acts as a stencil on the tiles and the fine details it produces are amazing. The tiles can be used for wall decor, trivets and other projects. The possibility are endless!

How To:

1. Spray one side of a piece of lace with spray adhesive (like Super 77)
2. Smooth it onto the surface of a ceramic tile. The glue will hold it firmly in place.
3. Spray quickly, (just enough to get an even color) with any spray paint or spray enamel (Montana colors and Krylon).

4. You don't even need to wait for the paint to dry, just carefully pull off the lace (even though the spray mount is 'permanent,' it will come off easily.)
