60th Birthday Photobook

Everybody wants to capture and remember their special moments. People have left those old-days film rolls and photo prints — and with the rise of digital photo and print we now have the options to work those moments and compile them into a photobook.

Here's a photobook that we've design for a 60th Surprized Birtday Bash.
It was a warm and fun celebration themed: "sport."
Everyone attended wore sport-related costumes, some even added their own funky flair.

Cherry Blossom Clay Peonies DIY

We came across this gorgeous DIY at Amy Atlas' website. The clay peonies were created by Diane from DK Designs who have shared her crafts on the Martha Stewart Show! Here's the instructions, enjoy!

SUPPLIES

  • 1 Pack each of Claycraft by Deco soft clay in white and red. If you want to make buds, you will need yellow and blue
  • Wet paper towel (work surface)
  • White tacky glue
  • Wire cutters
  • Soft Foam
  • 2 rounded end detail sticks
  • Detail scissors
  • Acrylic paints/paint brushes if you wish to accent paint
  • 24 or 30gr paper wrapped floral wire
  • Brown floral tape
  • Brown branches (can be found at a floral supply store or craft store)
  • Single shot glass or small votice case
  • Colored candy coated chocolates

1. Open up a set of wet paper towels. Mix 1/3 of the package of white with a tiny amount of red clay. Knead the clay by pulling apart and pushing back together until the color is mixed through. Make balls 1/2 inch in diameter.

2.  Make teardrops out of the balls using the heal of your right hand while keeping your left hand stationary to roll the teardrop shape.
3. Cut the teardrop slight off center, almost half way down lengthwise.  On the fatter side, cut twice to make 3 petals and cut the other side in half.  You should have a total of 5 petals.
4.  With a skewer or round toothpick, roll each petal out on your index finger. Before you roll the petal out completely, notch the petal in the middle and roll out again to create the heart shape.  Do this for all five petals.
5. Using the fat end of the largest round detail stick, indent each petal by pusing the petal down into the soft foam, to cup each petal.  You can choose not to do this step if you want your petals to be flat.
6. Place the fat end of the smaller detail stick into the center of the petals to make a hold for the stamen peps.  Take about 4-5 double-ended peps, fold in half, cut off the bottom, add glue and insert into the hole.  Taper the bottom of the clay to a point.
7.  Apply glue to 24 or 30g wire and insert into the bottom of the flower and let dry on a piece of styrofoam for roughly 12 hours.
8. If you wish, you can paint your flowers, but it is not necessary.  Using brown floral tape, tape the buds and flowers onto the branches in various positions.
When you have achieved the desired branch look you want, simply fill your glass with your favorite candies and insert the branch.

Marsio Neo Classic Portraiture

About three years ago, I had the honor being approached by Marsio Neo Classic Portraiture through Mimi, the marketing director and Marsio's own wife. Through our initial meeting we discuss about some possibility of working together, and that opportunity came April this year when Marsio participate in the most anticipated 2011 Bazaar Wedding Exhibition @ Ritz Carlton PP. They once again approach us and asked us if we can contribute for their show. Working closely together with Mimi, we designed several photo album cover and some personal stationery sets for them. Since than, we've been assigned to design one wedding photo album for their client, which I'm going to post later.

For now, check their facebook page to see Marsio's amazing photos and for more informations at:

An Interview With A Paperie Designer

Sopha & Co. have been contributing to the boutique paperie world of Indonesia for more than 3 years! The who's who behind this little studio is a lovable petite young mother called Diana Sopha. When our customers and friends visit our studio, they usually have more questions about Sopha & Co. than their paperie needs :D So, we've decided to do a mini interview with Diana to give us a glimpse of the Happy Go Lucky world of Sopha & Co. Enjoy reading the interview and if you do have any questions about us or paperies, don't hesitate to contact us! We love creating new friends and sharing knowledges!

Diana Sopha in her studio
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thank you for these questioners,... it makes me stop for a while, looked back and think and hope and dream and,... be thankful to God.

1. Tell us about how you started Sopha & Co.

I have always been strong in the arts & crafts area and have been making hand-made cards along with other nick-nacks since forever.
Sopha & Co. was started shortly after we had Belle, our first born, because we needed extra money; but more than that I was looking for something I can be proud of that I can call MINE (and HIS..., but my name is on it—that was his idea) hehehehehe...
Back than, I used to have the computer in my bedroom so that I can work back and forth while being close to Belle. To initiate the business my parents agreed to back us up with the initial capital, and so the first Sopha & Co.'s card I designed was created on 23rd December 2008.

2. What are the challenges you faced and how did you overcome them?

On the early days, Juan and I used to use our Sundays (the only family day we have) to drive around town (sometime out of town) to distribute our cards.
Moreover, In the beginning up to recently, everything were mostly done by me. These include: design, marketing, production, distribution, billing, accounting, and many other endless tasks. Of course there are times when I felt like calling it OFF. In fact, I had one of those just a couple of months ago.

In these past years I have finally found something I'm passionate about and that's important! Maybe that's what keeps me going. After all, nothing great were created in a instant, they can only be achieve with perseverance and love; so I choose to persevere and to love.

3. What are your dreams and hopes for the future of Sopha & Co.?

I'm inspired by smart and strong women such as: Martha Steward and Oprah for their courage to follow the path they believe in.
I hope that Sopha & Co. will always be the creative outlet where I can pour my ideas and bringing them to life.
It is my hope that we keep improving, inventing and perfecting our products that in turn will improve and contribute to the world.
It is my dream that someday soon Sopha & Co.'s products would be distributed and be known across the globe.
As tiny as we are, I'm thankful to finally being able to be joined by a team and I'm hoping that our team will grow.

Lastly, to the two persons who have invested in me and my dream — I hope to make my parents very proud.
